The walk was enjoyable and not too hard. The website said its accessible for wheelchairs. I don't think so. The falls are great. Soooo high and the water in April was fairly chilly. But a good walk and great to get outside in nature.

While visiting Waitakere Ranges, after checking out the black sand beaches and Lions Rock, we hiked to KiteKite falls. You get a beautiful view about halfway to the top. It took us about 1.5 to get to the top and back to the car at a moderate pace. It was a great autumn day to hike through the draped foliage... More

Don't miss out this walk and the waterfalls when you go to Piha. It's one of the places I show to all my friends when they visit me. About 30-45 minute walk to the waterfalls. Easy and relaxed walking. Go for it and not only for the beach.

Really enjoyed Kitekite falls. This was the first waterfall we visited in NZ. The walk was a little longer than we thought it would be but it was worth it. It looks beautiful from far away and even better at the base. Walking there I would recommend wearing trainers just to make it easier to get down to the falls.

The day we walked was a bit rainy, but the scenery is just stunningly beautiful! Because of the wet weather, some areas of the trails were a bit slippery. It's a bit of an uphill climb but I'm 60 and I was able to manage just fine, but for someone with mobility issues this is not an easy walk. I... More

I did the short track (approx 25min) to get to the falls on a rainy day and it was awesome. The forest gets so quiet at times and then you hear the falls in the background, cicadas and a few birds and you are in heaven. Once you get to the falls you have a short downhill walk on a... More

I loved the falls, but I also loved walking through the woods/forest to get to the falls. The trails was very walkable and the falls were well worth the time to get there.

We stopped to see the falls after spending some time at Piha beach. The hike wasn't too strenuous. We were wearing sandals and only had one bottle of water. There is a trail that goes to the top of the falls if you're feeling like more of a challenge. I was impressed with the shoe washing station at the trailhead.... More

I first visited the falls 40 years ago. The improvements to the track and toilets (still long drop thou) is very impressive. The say it's a 20 min walk, but for me it took the better part of an hour, but then I'm now 61 with artificial joints. Could do with a few more seats in the steeper parts
