Super hike; challenging; TERRIBLE signage!

Wonderful hike. We did it in 12 days. Too fast. Take 14-16 days to enjoy more and reduce daily mileage. We ended up with days at 23.7, 21, 20, 19.... we did it fine but would... read more

Wonderful hike. We did it in 12 days. Too fast. Take 14-16 days to enjoy more and reduce daily mileage. We ended up with days at 23.7, 21, 20, 19.... we did it fine but would have been nice to linger a bit more. Wonderfully varied scenery. TERRIBLE signage. Really a disgrace for UK hikers to do this to other... More

Hello hikers. Well, this season of c2c is fast approaching. I hope you will read all my other six reviews for lots of insight on the hike plus practical tips as we have done this hike numerous times. First and foremost is your feet! By now you should all have your excellent leather goretex hiking boots bought and at home... More

We are a 50 year-old couple from California who completed this walk in 12 days during the last two weeks of January. It was such a wonderful experience that we are returning during the summer of 2017 to walk again with our adult children. We used Sherpa van to book accommodations and take our bags each day so that we... More

It rained parts of each day, but that didn't diminish our remarkable experience! The scenery, the terrain, the solitude and periodic companionship of fellow hikers. We chose to hike just the first 1/2 (from St. Bees to Kirkby Stephen) this year, due to other commitments. Next year, we'll finish the other half -- and are so excited about doing it.... More

After planning our C2C ourselves we set off in September. My husband was planning to carry our combined pack himself...best decision of all..organising Packhorse at the last minute!! We found the walk to be exhausting & relaxing all at the same time, if you know what I mean? Our walk was over 16 days but in hindsight about 20 would've... More

This was on my "bucket list" and after years of thinking about it, my husband and I did it from 19 Sept-1 Oct. GREAT time of year to go, only rained twice for just a couple of hours each time and temps were perfect for walking. We started planning in January, and even then, some of our first choice accommodations... More

We thought that we would never be able to walk this section as it is very hard, even though our small group of mature ladies are experienced at long distance paths. However when we looked closely we found that it can be broken down into manageable day walks. We did our own planning and booked accommodation directly, but used Sherpa... More

My third time of walking the coast to coast, twelve and six years previously including east to west six years ago and using Packhorse on all three occasions. We were not disappointed, the accommodation chosen was great, good variety all of excellent standard with personal touch. Luggage arrives as if by magic. We were visited at Kirbybstephen by the owner... More

Since you have read countless reviews on how glorious the c2c walk is - which it indeed is - I thought I would give some practical advice which will hopefully be helpful. I realize most of you have a booking agent plan your trip and book your stays, Some agencies book the whole trip, including transportation, but many book only... More

Incredible trip with Sherpa Expeditions including a very knowledgeable guide. Make sure you have proper hiking equipment including good boots, 1,000 socks, Compeed, gaiters, walking sticks, a day pack that can hold rain gear, lunch, water, and hat. Each day poses a new challenge and the terrain is absolutely spectacular! Walking through the three national parks provided was heavenly during... More
