Lovely little historical hamlet, great to have a quick walk around before or after going to Blaise estate. Normally is quite a tranquil place but the little cottages are unique and have people living.

A bit of a hidden gem really and undoubtedly easy to miss. The hamlet is a collection of old cottages designed by John Nash and now under the ownership of the National Trust. The cottages are all inhabited so they can only be seen from...More

Took the dogs last Friday for a walk and my two young kids joined us. Great little ice cream truck there and a cafe if you fancy a snack! Lovely trails and you can pretty much wander in any direction and find something to do....More

This has a wonderful selection of small houses clustered around a green. Each house is different and the spot is typically very peaceful. You should be respectful of the residents as the number of visitors must drive them crazy at times. When we were there...More

A bit hard to find but a picturesque stop. The charming cottages sit around a gorgeous sundial. Even on a rainy winter day, we appreciated the gardens and design. So many unique architectural details to see....each home has its own personality.

When visiting Blaise astle this group of fantastically maintained "workers cottages" have got to be seen. Preserved by the National Trust and dating back to brilliant designers in the 1800s. There are only nine but once seen never forgotten. The Cottages are inhabited and not...More

These buildings are amazing, all different and all inhabited. Like a time gone by. The chimneys are what keeps me returning time and time again as there are not many chimneys like this to see. Also dovecote. Very peaceful too to sit and contemplate.

A wonderful idyll in amongst the Bristol suburbs: you would not know it is there, behind a simple garden gate, unless you have a National Trust handbook and found it in there as we did. Park in the nearby Blaise Castle car park, and ask...More

This “estate village” is a delight. How lovely it has been protected. It seems to be in a delightful world of it’s own with the thatch.
