I saw and photographed the ship in 1970 a few weeks after her return from the Falklands and was amazed to see the great work of restoration. The tour is well catered for with audio commentary from a handset which you dial in according to the area of the ship you are in. Many fascinating facts about the history of... More

Family friendly or even couples or just traveling through the mother land. Bristol's Harbour permanently docks the SS Great Britain. It has a lovely walk around deck and through the cabins with lots of great reads and things to look at.

Each time we visit the SS Great Britain, Children,Adults and Granny. we see or do something new. This time the Children 10 and 11 years climbed up the rigging to a viewing platform and stepped out along the main yard, great excitement but not for Granny! The tickets for the ship once bought can be used for a year.

This is a for me a fantastic day out for people of any age, to go back in time and see a fantastic engineer, Isambard Kingdom Brunel from the 1800's and the lovely re-built and restored SS Great Britain that he designed. Assuming you can get past the gift book shop or cafe first ! There are guided tours, or... More

I was given a trip as part of a birthday present. Its great, OK if you like wondering over and under historic boats. I spent two and half hours there and only did half what i wanted too. Look out for the guided tours , I missed it, but met them half way round and stopped to listen for a... More

We had an annual family ticket and went 4 times in all. It was worth it, but not sure I'd buy a yearly ticket again as the day ticket is fairly reasonable. It's a very well executed reconstruction of what the ship was like when operational as a passenger vessel altho some of the exhibits are a little worn around... More

We have been to the SS Great Britain three times in the last year as our ticket was valid for a year - which is great value. There is so much to see and learn - the attention to detail is excellent - the sounds and smells really brought the ship to life. They are adding to the exhibition all... More

The SS Great Britain is a nice sight in Bristol but I prefer it at night. At Night you can't go on it of course but it's all lit up and no one is there so you can very nice pictures indeed!
