We visited on Dec 24 to kick start Christmas for our 5 year old son. This was our first & most likely last visit. The station was poorly presented & decorated as were the majority of the employees & our carriage had not been cleaned....More

We have been on this railway many times not a very long journey but nice for the children especially at Christmas and Theme days.

An excellent pre-booked lunch in a grounded vintage railway carriage! Three menu choices for each of 2 or 3 courses; beer & wine available. Large helpings and helpful staff. No trains running that day but buffet supports the railway's visitors 364 days a year.

We took our young grandchildren on the Santa Special and it was terrific. It snowed; Father Christmas was excellent and the ambience was lovely. We all loved it.

The railway is not very long but enjoyable all the same. The locomotives and rolling stock are all restored to a high standard and the staff are very friendly. A great destination for a family visit.

Check out the train station and then head off for a walk or ride. The walk is more enjoyable if you don't get run over by the cyclists. I would suggest a sunny day.

Interesting, visit for a couple of hours, nice shop, a couple of trains, coaches and stuff, it's not York Railway Museum, but they are trying hard and deserve to succeed, let's hope they can extend the length of the running track. We visited on a...More
