Never enjoyed visiting a Zoo as much as this one. Looks small but you would at least nice 5 -6 hours to cover the entire zoo thoroughly. My favorite attractions were "the dusk to dawn", "the guerrilla" and "the seal" Not many good eating options, hence please pack your picnic along. Ample parking available but you got to pay 3... We spent 3 hours on a cold crisp spring day at the zoo. Visitors were not that numerous just some families with young children and a few school parties. Some of the enclosures were being worked on and there was also a major build of the restaurant taking place. Despite this we had a very nice time walking around and... More

Book online before you go, it is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper (and you skip the queues!!). In fact the price on the door I feel is a little steep, but the online price of £10 per adult is about right. It's a city zoo so don't expect too much, the largest animals they have are lions and gorillas. Lots of fish, insect,... More

Bristol Zoo is compact and beautifully landscaped. The penguin house is amazing, I love standing underneath them as they swim around. The Zoo is proactive in conservation, so the displays around the animal houses are educational and though provoking. When my kids were small, the Nocturnal House - with it's scurrying rats and mice in the microwave - was their... More

A great place to introduce children to the animal kingdom. Plenty of interactive activities for all the family. A good play area for the children.

Not a large site so animals are in small cages and many show boredom behaviours (lions pacing continuously etc). Very difficult to witness. Noisy out of control children everywhere banging on glass and generally showing no respect for the animals. Not the biggest fan of zoos anyway but visited with a friend as she wanted to take her daughter there.... More
