Built in 1766 as a place where the people of Bristol could come together, Bristol Old Vic is the oldest continuously working theatre in the English speaking world. It was built as a symbol of the pride we have in our city and what it can achieve and...more

Built in 1766, this theater has been run as a theater ever since. It is fun to see a show in such a classic place. A little quirky, there are posts on every level except the pit that partial obstruct the view. These are noted...More
Delicious coffee served in a beautiful building. They have done an incredible job with the renovations. Service was good and there is inside and outside seating. The cakes and sandwiches looked very tempting, will have to go back to try them!
We enjoyed this fabulous production of Twelfth Night at BOV. Set in the swinging sixties, there was huge energy and innovative thinking. Verse speaking was excellent and the understanding of the essential themes of the play absolutely outstanding. Highly recommended
Advice from weary direct experience: do NOT waste your time going to the Old Vic box office in person to buy tickets: it gives you no advantage whatsoever over buying tickets online.

This is a very good building, part if it's charm but also makes seating limited as there are pillars and limited access to seats. A small venue regards the main theatre. They've recently refurbished the bar areas, by the look of it.
Had a wonderful time in a well rejuvenated theatre. It has been well done. Credit to all concerned.
I have a hearing problem and was given use of an amplifier. Much appreciated. Money well spent. Very good show, and what's more the support act was...More
Good production very professional company
A little too much content for audience target, speaking as a teacher
A little more pre show interaction would be an idea
Venue is excellent-however confusing entrance as you have to go into cafe area to access box office
First time here since the grand reveal. This has been done sympathetically. It’s modern whilst keeping the main fabric of the listed building intact. This might very well be our new watering hole. Love it, love it. We will be back to watch another instalment...More
