Lovely Pub

We enjoyed drinks in this interesting pub, choosing to sit in the busy garden. Drinks were chosen from a wide selection of real ales and we all enjoyed our choices

Desperately trying to think of somewhere in Bristol nearby that did good Sunday Roasts, totally lucked out here. Fantastic tender roasted lamb was one of the best I tasted. Love dark cosy the old world feel of the pub, and they even have a bar billiards table, not often you find one of these. Will definitely come back again. Recommended.

This was a great boozer with always at least half a dozen real ales on. Since Youngs have acquired we have their standard fare and 4 others one of which being the ubiquitous Gem. What adds salt to the wounds is the lack of home made sausage rolls tonight which were always worth the visit.

The food here was second to none, particularly the Sunday roast. Massive portion with all the trimmings. Very cosy pub which accommodates for summer drinks or wintertime drinks. Feels very homely definitely a hidden gem!

This pub whisks you back in time. Loads of history with a real mix of customers. The food is good and the Sunday lunches are delicious and very reasonably priced. Happy staff make happy customers.

The pub itself is a bit dark inside but it has a lovely garden. The staff are always friendly and the food is delicious. Not far from where I work so a perfect place to meet friends for lunch.

Nice pub to head to for a quick lunch with work if you are based at/near the university, especially when the sun is shining. As a result we visit regularly, but as a vegetarian I seem to be stuck with variations on the veggie chilli (which is lovely by the way) every time. The rest of the (meat based) food... More

Love this pub. Not too much to say really but if you like an old fashioned pub in a great location then it's worth a visit. Decent selection of beers and ciders. Also worth trying to balance a coin on the lemon to win a free pint! It's beaten me thus far but one day I'll win... One day...

Another stop to drink beers during my stay in Bristol. This is typical student pub which was always full of students. Beers were perfect here - lots of dark, pale beers and ciders. Meals were good as well. But toilets were little dirty.

I've been trying to have a roast every Sunday in Bristol for the last 6 months. Been to a range of pubs around town but these guys have nailed it. The veg was brilliant. I had lamb which was cooked perfectly. They were running behind on orders, it was busy & they had a few large tables in but they... More
