A beautiful setting: the walks are well worth trying too. The manor was home to Disraeli and fairly predictably the displays are not terribly balanced, but there are some interesting exhibits. Far more compelling, and better presented, is the house's World War Two story with...More

This was a brilliant weekend and highly recommended for next year. They are truly beautiful surroundings, there is lots of history there - thoroughly enjoyed our Tour of the Manor. On this weekend it was wonderful to see so many people interested in the history...More

As National Trust members we didn't pay. If we had paid we'd have been disappointed. The house itself was enjoyable with lots of history. The walled garden was more like a giant allotment. The church was OK but just a church, nothing special. The cafe...More

What a fabulous and informative weekend, complete with a fly past. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing the uniforms, the history tellers were fab. As were the ladies singing, like a step back in time.

With talks on Hughenden’s role in WW2, a Victorian prime minister living there, this house is steeped in history. Other talks are also ongoing to bring the stories to life. Well worth a visit.

Visited with my wife and 2 friends on a sunny day. This is a National Trust property so it's free if you are a member. The main Manor House is very impressive and was the country retreat of Benjamin Disraeli who twice served as Prime...More
