The quiteness of this place is deafening and the building spectacular. Inside nobody spoke and the peace was amazing. The gardens are beatufully kept and any body assosiated with this place should be very proud.

I've been to this cemetery twice now, the first time I was really surprised at the size & number of graves. It really makes you think about the past & what has happened. The second time was in better weather where we had longer to stay & look at the exhibits & some of the graves. There is a massive... More

We stopped off on a Sunday morning on the way to the madingley park and ride. As we parked and entered the bells were ringing and after the hour chime played the English and American national anthems. The cemetery was immaculate throughout. Looking at the rows of grave stones, all the same, brought home the scale if loss in WW2... More

Whether you are a local or a tourist it is a interesting place to visit. Quiet, clean and smart, a place to reflect and view information on days gone by. If you spend minutes or hours here it is a little place if history that will find a place in your heart for all the people who gave there lives.... More

We visited on a misty morning which seem to make it all the more moving seeing the rows of crosses through the gloom. Fascinating museum & beautiful church,

My wife and I make it a point to visit an American Cemetery when we're in the vicinity. They are humbling and inspiring. The Cambridge Cemetery is no exception. Start with the well-done visitors center which tells the story about the Battle of the Atlantic, the build-up to D-Day, and the bomber and fighter crews that operated out of England.... More

You are not alone in your laudable enterprise to visit American Cemeteries when you are near. We are glad to hear that as well as your visit to the grounds - a testament to our grounds-keeping staff - you also found the Visitor Center interesting and stimulating. I would like to correct one misconception, in that the largest number of... More

Not a lot to really say about this. Just go and take in what's it all about. Visit the very good visitors centre on arrival to understand the background to everything around you.

A peaceful, dignified, beautifully kept, memorial to the thousands of service personnel who paid the ultimate price for the very freedom we enjoy today. The sheer number of white crosses and stars and the names on the Wall of of Remembrance is heartbreaking when you think, not only of the lives lost, but also of the people they left behind.

I and my colleagues found your response to a visit to Cambridge American Cemetery very moving. We often draw to the attention of our visitors, the gaping hole that can be left in families when a member dies - the social consequences. We would like to use your words as a quote, as we feel they truly encompass the story... More
