I have visited the common multiple times over the years, first seeing it during a Strawberry Fair in the 90s. It is a pleasant green sace, though not as manacured as some other greens in the city. It does provide some fresh air, and a peaceful walk or lounge and is a good break from the "city." My most recent... More

As host of the annual midsummer fair this is one of the more 'wild' open spaces in Cambridge which i thinks adds to its charm with longer grass and less crowds than the more neatly kept open spaces. The riverside path is very popular with cyclists and joggers a like and is a very pleasant walk at any time of... More

Midsummer Common provides a lovely walk. You can walk along the river and see the boats. Midsummer Common is usually the least busy common, in Cambridge city centre.

From fairs, to fishing, joggers, boats and a cold beer. Mid summer common has it all, or just a big area to play in.

There are quite a few green spaces in Cambridge and most of them are beautiful, this one included, though I'd rate others above it. It's still a nice place to sit and relax, specially in the summer

Even though this is one of the lesser well kept green spaces in Cambridge, holding both the Strawberry Fair and Beer Festival make this a great little spot away from the busier central side of Cambridge.

What more can I say other than its a common! I wouldn't suggest that anybody goes out of their way to visit here, other than if they feel the need to go to the on-site loo's.

This is the site of the Strawberry Fair and the fun fair as well. As such it does tend to attract scallywags and skulking packs of teenagers to be honest. It is in a nice central location and near the river, but there are definitely better, more well-maintained green spaces in good old Cambridge that could be considered more picnic-worthy.

Midsummer Common is a huge expanse of grass very close to the river , cattle often graze on it, but there is plenty of room for everyone, On the northern edge is the river and The Fort St George pub sits proudly by a handy footbridge on the riverbank .
