Popped in on a visit to Cambridge with friend and found this a fascinating introduction. It gives a quick but informative run through the history of the city from the Romans until present day, particularly looking at the role of Christianity in it's development. I...More

Joshua, the resident guide/caretaker made our visit come alive. Do ask him about the people in the scriptorium. Walking tours start here too.

It's round, it's a church. The staff is nice and approachable, there's a tour and a two hour video, but who has that kind of time. We wanted to like this more, left wanting, but ready to go. They did all they could with what...More

Thank you, theDabblers, for your review! The Round Church certainly is little, but we hope there's enough in here to pique the interest of those looking for a good introduction to Cambridge. Just by way of correction, the 'Saints and Scholars' video is twenty minutes,...More

We popped into this place on our way back to the car after the end of a long day and, if we're being honest, were a little underwhelmed. The round end of the church is interesting, but other than this the inside of the church...More

Thank you, Jonathan, for your feedback! It's true that the Round Church is a little different from other Cambridge edifices. It does't have the grandeur of King's College chapel or the lavish decoration of the chapel at Saint John's College. It is, however, an architectural...More

The Round Church Visitor's Center was extremely helpful for places to visit in Cambridge and setting up the walking tour of the city.

This ancient and beautiful little church was an unexpected highlight of our walk round Cambridge, which we enjoyed in spite of the dense crowds of tourists at the main attractions. Dating from the 11th century, it is one of only four round churches in use...More

This is a beautiful small church in the heart of the City Centre. The gentleman who was also the guide there was extremely passionate about the building and was a very good guide. There is an exhibition and a video to see.

We read this is the second oldest building in Cambridge, and was worth a visit. The building is lovely, and the history interesting. We decided to book a tour from this building. The guide is patronising, we were twice asked to confirm we knew who...More

Thank you, Bob V, for taking the time to review the Round Church! We're so glad you enjoyed the building, and are sorry to hear you were unsatisfied with the tour. While we do argue for Christianity's vital role in the development of Cambridge University...More

This ancient church is now a visitor centre, given over to examining the role of Christianity in the development of ideas studied at Cambridge, which we found to be an interesting perspective, but one which wouldn't be to everyone's taste. We didn't have long enough to...More

The building is interesting and beautiful. Unfortunately, the panels of "information" are highly biased and in some cases, incorrect. The reader is asked to believe that the christian religion was largely what made the scientific revolution possible in Europe, a fairly bizarre idea. The tone...More

Thank you, Gmmtroll, for taking time to review our exhibition. We do indeed believe that much of the groundwork for the scientific revolution was laid by those operating with reference to the Christian worldview, but appreciate there are those who disagree. We aspire to advance...More
