Founded in the early 1900s, we are Cambridge's oldest and friendliest punting company.

We founded pleasure punting in Cambridge and have hired boats along the famous College Backs and on the scenic route towards Grantchester village for over 100 years.

As the first company in Cambridge to offer chauffeured tours of the College Backs, our VisitEngland award-winning services include both our boat hire and our College Backs Tour.

Discover how the city has evolved from medieval market town to world-class centre for education whilst enjoying spectacular views from the river - the ideal introduction to the city's inspiring history.

Going early on a Winter's morning meant that we had the river to ourselves. It was so peaceful floating along and seeing all the picturesque backs as Josh provided great knowledge about the colleges. I couldn't think of a better way to start the day's exploration of Cambridge!

Our ride Claudia was informative and friendly. We really enjoy our ride with her. We learn a lot about the history about Cambridge and the stories amount the colleges. Fun ride!

We took a tour on a nice sunny day on Monday 13th February. Our guide was very friendly, though I cannot remember his name. Friends of our live in Cambridge and have found this company to be the best. They are very through, they bring you as far on the river as they can, they are very safety conscious too.... More

This is Cambridge's version of the city bus tour. 45 minutes being punted along the Cam river seeing all the sights and learning the history of the town and the university and its colleges. I am sure this would be great in late Spring and Summer but we did this on a cold February day and the blankets and hot... More

On a cold winter's day with rain threatening to come down we dared to take the 45 minutes punt tour of the backs. We had one punter one guide - they said because the water is difficult. Maybe so, but it seemed to us more like they just enjoyed each others' company and business was slow. The boat (is this... More

Decided to have a row boat rather than punting with a 4 and 6 year old. Was really good and everyone waved to the kids. They loved it.

A friend recommended we did this on our first and very short trip to Cambridge. We chose to go along the backs of the colleges along the waterways. Very personable, attentive young woman was our river guide. Really busy at height of summer so some things a bit hard to hear ... plenty of other boats on the water. Thought... More

With a free afternoon from our tour, my wife and I decided to go punting on the Cam. First, we tried a small punting service, Cambridge Chauffeur Punts, which told us a ride would cost 14 pounds apiece (Concession rate). Unfortunately, we were going to have to wait an hour to take the tour, so the person at CCP suggested... More

Booked this along with the bus trip. Definitely worthwhile. The weather was very cold so we were worried it would be cancelled. Not only was it not cancelled but we were provided with blankets and hot water bottles and were very cosy. Lots of fascinating information and lovely views. Bad points.....I got a numb bum.

We braved a wet, cold day during a day trip to Cambridge to punt along the Cam river. It was well worth it. We got blankets and hot water bottles and thoroughly enjoyed our punting trip. Niko was so engaging and fascinating with his non-stop commentary. Whilst I had many questions, I was too wrapped in his talk that I... More
