We stayed here last year for B&B and were extremely impressed. It's a fantastically convenient location ( we were in Cambridge for the Alumni Festival so needed to walk all around Cambridge). The breakfast was very good quality. We'd certainly recommend staying here.

Living in Cambridge and working for the University gives you the privilege to often be invited for dinners at the colleges. There is really only one reason why dinning at one of the old colleges is so spectacular. It's the old dinning halls, the very nice (but freezing cold) atmosphere of these old magical buildings. However, when it comes to... More

St Catherine's is a pleasant college, which supposedly has closed access. You may visit the chapel however for services. Ignoring the sign I proceeded to the chapel on the excuse of enquiring the service times. The chapel is interesting and well worth a visit. The grounds are immaculate and the whole collage a photographers delight. Beautiful flower beds all around.... More

I was there for a scientific meeting, so a faculty member of St. Catharine's booked 3 nights for me in a room with private bath at a very reasonable rate (would have been pretty reasonable if he hadn't booked it). Pluses: 1) Centrally located for university stuff and near main shopping districts. 2) Room was well furnished, large enough, clean.... More

I stayed for 2 nights in St Catharine's College, bed and breakfast, cheap and cheerful student accommodation. A nice big room overlooking a courtyard(don't walk on the grass) with the lavatory and shower room at the other end of the corridor. There were three small flights of stairs to my room, no disabled access anywhere; even the route to the... More

Not luxury accommodation but I had a sparklingly clean room with en suite, overlooking the Main Street (a bit noisy but decent blackout curtains meant I slept well). A hearty breakfast, delightful quad, and a comfortable bed in a centrally located college, ideal for a short break. The porters were exceptionally pleasant and set the scene for a stress free... I was thrilled to finally be allowed to sleep in one of the most renown Cambridge College. It was lovely, comfortable & clean. The staff was also helpful and nice.

The buildings are old, but the rooms are of a good size. Last year I had one with en-suite bathroom, but opted for the cheaper option this year with shared bathroom. It was not a problem as it seemed to be only 3 rooms per bathroom and there is a sink in the room as well. There is tea and... More

Stayed here for 2 nights on business when attending a conference. Rooms are well maintained and very clean. Ideally located in the city centre. Customer service from the team in Porters Lodge was very good and the food in the restaurant was also good quality. Excellent value for money in delightful surroundings. Would certainly use again.

As Daniel Webster said of Dartmouth, "It is, Sir, as I have said, a small college. And yet, there are those who love it." This is far from the oldest, biggest, richest, or grandest of Cambridge's colleges, but it has its charms. In particular, it has two choirs that would be remarkable anywhere except next door to King's College: a... More
