This is a delightful little community park on the walk from the cathedral to the bustling river. It is very well designed and constructed with different areas referring to local heritage, good planting and interesting seating. It is certainly an oasis on a hot day...More

Well laid out, with plentiful nods at local history and heritage. Very scenic and has decent facilities enabling one to stay there all day if you want

Gardens are large and we enjoyed walking through them as part of the Eel trail. There are different areas for activities, including a good sized lawn, children's play area and different plants.

Apart from the people spending the night on park benches, this is a please place to pass some time. The highlight is that it is riverside.

This was a very nice way of walking off breakfast, it took us down to the riverside. Think it would look nicer in the summer when there would be more colour!

Covers quite a large area from the riverside up to just below the cathedral. A pleasant walk, good place for a picnic.

A lovely open space to enjoy the fresh air when you track from the river-side into the town center. Upon reaching the top, cross the road and go straight-over, continuing upward on a gravel path to reach the cathedral and Oliver Cromwell's house.
