Ely Catherdral is definately a beautiful and historic building. Rather disappointingly they charge for entracnce dispite the fact that this is a place of worship and not everbody can afford to pay to pray. seems to be more of a business than anything else.

Don't miss it. This is a fabulous cathedral and the volunteer guides are very knowledgeable. Quite lovely.

We went on a wet November day but it was still spectacular. I hadn't appreciated quite how big it is-an amazing sight. We only had a very short time and would like to return for a proper tour. We had lunch in the refectory, which is rather small, we were lucky to get a table.

Went today with a coach load of pensioners for a two hour visit break. I agree with previous comments and would add that the level of continuing work on this magnificent place is of the highest standards in line with the original builders. Although one wonders how it the original work was carried out. Particularly the entrance high level ceiling... More

I live a couple of villages over from Ely Cathedral and usually eat in the very good coffee shop as a way of supporting the cathedral whenever in the city. However, I'm fed up with the £8 entrance fee. I'm informed it's voluntary and I've no issue with voluntary donation but it doesn't feel voluntary. The cathedral is a place... More

Lovely to walk through the grounds. Free parking in the car park. Worth a visit inside too for the stain glassed windows.

The architecture (the octagonal tower), the wood carving, the stone carving and the decoration (even the organ pipes are painted) were all amazing. Everywhere you look there is something to wonder at. Craftsmanship at its very best.

Went here with friends. This is not my cup of tea but have to say a very impressive building and well maintained. The guides are good and the coffee shop is worth a visit

A must see adventure with amazing history. I recommend paying for the extra tower tour, the west tower is better if you have the option. Bring a camera and wait for a beautiful day.
