Exceptional day at the races with friends. An annual event with friends can't be beaten. The location of the race course and facilities available locally are impressive. A wonderful experience.

Chester races has loads going for it, so close to the town, small easy to get around the course BUT its not value for money. Getting the County Concourse ticket at £44 basically only gets you into the concourse, only two bars which are both...More

The Races and the whole of Chester was totally packed with mainly drunk, confused looking people. The course is far too small and the views are rubbish. The place was noisey, litter everywhere and very very expensive. Our hotel (2 miles out) was sanctuary and...More

The oldest and best race course in Britain. You don't need binoculars because it is only 7 furlongs around. The stands were originally the customs house for the port and the old quay is part of the course. The best place is on the grass...More

Please could someone tell me what drinks prices to expect in the racecourse? I can't find any information of this kind on the website or elsewhere?

TBH it's no more expensive than a night out in Manchester so you won't need mortgage or anything to purchase a round of drinks Thanks

Seating Question Going to the May Festival and looking to book tickets but as I'm going with my elderly father, I want to find the enclosure which gives us best chance of getting a seat between races (or grabbing a table/chairs early and trying to hold on to it). From a lot of reviews here (mostly positive), the lack of seating around the course seems a biggish issue (even more expensive enclosures don't necessarily have an abundance of seats). Does anyone have any advice as to which enclosure I'm best trying to get seats (not bothered about paying extra but don't want my dad to have to stand for most/all of the day)? Cheers

Hi, I would suggest either the Long Room or The Winning post enclosure. Both area's offer informal seating. However, unfortunately seating is not guaranteed. We advise that you arrive early on the race date. If you would... More
