We always enjoy visiting museums and this was no exception. Being in Chester, there is a good selection of Roman artefacts on the ground floor. Well worth viewing is the set of domestic scenes from various periods of British history. I particularly liked the Victorian...More

We had been to Chester in the summer and had done the bus tour where it mentioned the Grosvenor Museum, so we decided on our next visit to Chester that we would go to this museum. We didnt think that it would be very big...More

My 3 year old absolutely loved the nature room and the other things for kids to do. Plenty for grown ups to read and learn about too. Also loved the tiny tearoom. We will definitely return!

Ventured down to this museum with a couple of hours to occupy before meeting my wife for lunch. No problem in filling the 2 hours fully with the range of exhibits on offer. A particular highlight for me was the period house with 3 floors...More

Enjoyed a walk around around the Grosvenor museum though some rooms looked worn out. Came here after the advice of the Roman tour guide a and the model of the city was very impressive

Thought I had read about it but they do actually have a pen use at Tokyo for the Japanese WWII Surrender together with another used in the Philippines. Unique as all others are Stateside. Also an extensive exhibit of roman bits and pieces well displayed...More

This is an OK local museum. The best bits are on the ground floor - a room on Roman Chester and a temporary exhibition on death, of all things. After that it peters off. The bulk is some dated Victorian interiors and a moth-eaten natural...More

We stopped in here during our walk of the walls. The exhibit on the history of the city and its preceding Roman fortress was very interesting and complemented the wall walk well. They also had a special exhibition on death which was well presented and...More

Unfortunately none of the museum staff are producing eggs at this moment . Your pet tortoise will have to be kept chained up outside as we are worried he might try to chew dinosaur bones sorry
