Sorry to say that altho’ this was interesting, it wasn’t as good as we expected. It is a free museum & well set out, but a little lacking.

I love this museum. I have been dozens of times and it always fascinates. Love the Roman gravestones...they bring the city to life.

A Victorian building with rooms on two levels. Most of the exhibits are of Roman artefacts found in Chester. These are well labelled and are impressive.

I'm sorry to say I was disappointed with this museum. I know it's a voluntary contribution to enter, but I found it boring... And I love museums.

Small, local museum. Free admission leaves your donation up to you. This tiny museum has some outstanding items. There is a legionaries 25 year completion certificate, which is very rare, along with some stellar grave markers.

The rooms with proper art in were fine but room 1 and the Russian room were both modern art and therefore complete rubbish. Kings Kitchen is no such thing - it's a classroom filled with kids coats. Someone got told off for trying to go...More

Visited here while my wife hit the shops of Chester! Spent an hour or so wandering around seein some very interesting Roman displays. There were some original Roman gravestones with translated inscriptions and some very interesting relics which had been found in the excavations.

The museum had a natural history section, silverware, portraits and a telling of the Roman roots of the city among its eclectic rooms. It is free.

Unfortunately none of the museum staff are producing eggs at this moment . Your pet tortoise will have to be kept chained up outside as we are worried he might try to chew dinosaur bones sorry
