From the local Cornish coast to the dazzling beauty of the Tropical Reef, Newquay Blue Reef aquarium has an exciting world of underwater adventure waiting to be discovered. More than 40 innovative displays vividly bring to life the sights, sounds and smells of the sea, whilst regular feeding displays, rock-pool workshops and informative talks provide a fun and fascinating day out. Visitors can enjoy the closest of undersea encounters with amazing aquatic life including seahorses, giant octopus, pulsating Jellyfish and fierce Piranha. At the aquariums heart is a spectacular coral reef display housed within a 250,000 litre ocean tank - home to exotic tropical species like black tip reef sharks and Omiros the rescued loggerhead turtle. As well as hundreds of brightly-coloured reef fish and a huge Southern Stingray. Enjoy the sheer beauty of the display by taking a journey through its very own underwater tunnel, as well as through a number of viewing portholes, a floor to ceiling window and even enjoy close encounters from the surface - where Omiros often likes to pop up to say hello! Situated on Towan Promenade in the heart of Newquay, Blue Reef Aquarium not only offers a beach on its doorstep but also an amazing experience, whatever the weather!

We visited Newquay for the day while on holiday in Looe. We had £2 off vouchers which were taken no problem. Therefore paying £7 each. The aquarium was very interesting with lots of species of fish and ocean creatures. We spent an hour in the...More

Expensive entry, even more expensive food. Poorly laid out, small and not well kept. A very expensive way to spend about 2 hours. Made worse by a long walk to the nearest car park after! Won't rush back. Hopefully there will be a sealife centre...More

Aquarium was a lot smaller than expected, was worth the visit but definitely aimed more at the younger audience than adults. Wasn’t a great range to see, we walked around quite quickly and left to return later for the shark feeding. The shark feeding wasn’t...More

The aquarium was a bit small we were in and out in less than an hour. The children however enjoyed looking at all the lovely fish and in particular the large sea turtle.

A small aquarium with a good selection of sea life. The reason i say dissapointing is that for disabled visitors the aquarium is very difficult to get to as does not have its own parking. So as it is on beach front which is a...More

Did not meet my expectations and thought the entry fee was quite expensive for what was there, quite disappointed.

Expensive for how long it takes to go around BUT, once you get your hand stamped you can go in and out all day. So great for the children to be able use the beach and aquarium all day long.

The aquarium is a great way to spend a couple of hours in Newquay. Interesting talks about the sea life throughout the day and some amazing creatures.

This aquarium is so overpriced for all it is. We’d been round it in half an hour and we looked at everything in detail. In places it was unclean and smelt a bit more than usual smells at sealife centres. I was so disappointed with...More
