Set in lush sub-tropical gardens, Newquay Zoo is home to more than 1,000 of the world's rare and exciting creatures. Just a short walk from Newquay's town centre and world famous surfing beaches, the Zoo is both one of Cornwall's most exciting visitor attractions and a leading conservation charity.

It's the only place in Cornwall where you can see lions devour their lunch before taking a leisurely stroll through a tropical rainforest, surrounded by free flying birds.

Keeper talks and animal feeds take place throughout the day but if you fancy an even closer animal encounter we offer visitors the chance to meet and feed our cheeky lemurs, friendly penguins and impossibly cute meerkats!

See wildebeest, waterbuck, nyala antelope and zebra roaming in our African Savannah and enjoy some familiar faces in The Village Farm - one of our most popular exhibits which includes many children's favourites such as pot-bellied pigs, African pygmy goats, turkeys and striped squirrels.

And if all that isn't enough to keep the kids amused, we also have activity trails, face painting, a children's play area, dragon maze...and much more.

Besides enjoying a great family day out, when you visit Newquay Zoo you'll also be supporting our vital education, research and conservation work, all designed to protect endangered animals from extinction. We're playing a key role in the international effort to save animals through conservation breeding.

We had a lovely afternoon here. Not huge but good for wasting a few hours away. Plenty of animals to see, well laid out. Feeding time was fun to watch especially the lions and the Warty Pigs. Not too busy so you could always get near the enclosures. Remember to take some change as you have to pay for the... More

Doesn't compare to somewhere like Chester zoo, but it's OK. Some decent animals, could do with some maintenance work doing around the place.

We went with a child of 3. Was a really good way to kill a few hours. Entry is very reasonable and your ticket is valid for a week. The animals all looked healthy and happy. Well worth a visit.

Although I appreciate its a charity we were a little disappointed with this as a day out. Having been to Edinburgh zoo this was a bit disappointing in comparison.

excellent family day out and good value for money. our 6 year old daughter loved it. wish we'd taken a picnic because the food was very expensive and not particularly good. the rest of the day was wonderful though

If you're looking to kill a few hours this is a nice place to go but it is small. You have to pay for parking too. Some nice animals tho.

We have visited before 4 years ago. Zoo smaller than I remembered, however son enjoyed it. Good that you can return for free over 7 days however you can easily see all animals in under 1.5 hours. Lion feed time was excellent. Too many people smoking around zoo which did put me off watching certain animals while with my young... More

Visited today as on location with family. Daughter aged 6 loved it but not the biggest or best I've been too. Exceptionally clean and animals looked very healthy. Car parking not free and expensive! you have to pay per hour and difficult to judge as you don't no how long you will be there for depending on your stay....

When you have been spoilt with Chester zoo and Blackpool zoo, this zoo is a bit poor. Good value for money though as we got to see Lions and penguins.
