This street is a must when visiting Penzance with good local attractions like an ejiption house near the top to the admeral be bembow restaurant near the bottom with the gunman on the roof and at the bottom pubs and Penzance harbour

Chapel Street is a great place to browse, drink, eat, shop and stay. The Artists Residence is terrific, fabulous restaurant and lovely quirky rooms. Some good pubs too serving very decent food. Great architecture too with the Egyptian House being the most surprising. It houses a superb range of natural lotions and potions made on the premises. Lovely way to spend a few hours.

I love Chapel Street but I am afraid that I don't know why. The architecture (amongst other things it is home to the famous Egyptian House), the unique independent shops, the fact that the sea is at the end of the street, the faded gentility??? I really don't know but when visiting Penzance it is worth a look. The book... More

I arrived in Penzance in the middle of the Mazey Day Festival so the town was crazy! Had to fight my way along the waterfront from the train station to my hostel to drop my backpack and then joined the locals out in the streets drinking beers. Chapel Street has many historic sites dating back to the 14th century. I... More

Whenever we are on holiday in the area we always do the Chapel Street walk - never changes but never fails to charm.

There are so many different shops - everything from traditional butchers to retro, junk and antique shops, bookshops, art shops, galleries, pubs, and good places to eat too. There is also a brilliant shop selling rugs and carpets, many of which are directly sourced from abroad. Add to this that it runs down to the docks and the sea, with the... More

Lovely area, great shops and lots to do on event days. Passed this building a couple of years earlier and it was having maintenance done. Now looks in great shape. Penzance has some fab places to visit and the beach is one of the best, you just want to walk and walk and walk.

The church is probably Georgian. The Art Centre is definitely so. We used it for a function, the rooms are high with typical tall windows and lovely cornicing. The floors are white painted original wood. The artwork is great.
