Description:

Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens is a major new attraction in West Cornwall...

Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens is a major new attraction in West Cornwall which opened mid September 2012. In a beautiful sheltered valley, the woods, stream and dramatic vistas provide a perfect setting for large scale exotic and sub-tropical planting. Interwoven with this there is also an evolving programme of high quality contemporary art installations. Inspirational....contemplative... a joy to visit... Dramatic landscape and planting provide the backdrop to contemplative but inspirational artworks. Internationally renowned artists, such as James Turrell and David Nash have interacted with the garden to create site specific permanent work which harmonise with the setting. The land also provides a forum for ever changing temporary, or even ephemeral arts in all its forms. Ticket Prices: Standard Adult : £8.00 Concessions: £6.50 11 - 15 Years: £4.50 Under 11: Free Family Ticket (Two Adults and Two 11 - 15 Years): £20.00 Season Ticket: £30.00 Opening Times: Daily, 10am - 5pm

So glad we found Tremenheere sculpture gardens, we have been holidaying in Cornwall for a long time & have never known it was there, loved the exotic plants, and the walks that meandered through the gardens taking you to the sculptures, we came on a over cast day which was a pity as the view towards St Michaels mount would... Loved the choice of food at lunchtime; can recommend the celeriac & apple bhaajis and the cheese scones. Booking was advisable, even on the damp day we visited, the kitchen was busy. The gardens were a bit steep in places but that allowed a fine view over to St Michaels Mount. The sculpture gallery was closed to change the exhibition... More

We visited the gallery. The displays were good and thought provoking however, there was nowhere to sit, and as I cannot stand for long I couldn't fully appreciate it. I think we may have come at the wrong time of year as the weather wasn't conducive to wandering. So next time we'll try again

This sculpture garden is wonderful - even on a rainy day. The plants are wonderful - such exotic species you think you have flown south. We took the dogs and we both enjoyed the day. The sculpture was not overpowering - just enough to add interest. there is also a new indoor art gallery space for added interest. Lovely shop... More

We had a great lunch on Sunday.. For a vegetarian it was particularly good, the Nut Roast was outstanding with a lovely mushroom and thyme sauce. It was a Cashew and lentil but roast which was as good as you get. The vegetables and roast accompaniments were superb. The restaurant was full and tables were constantly being reset for new... We saw the Rose Hilton retrospective in the brand new gallery, an excellent show of the "middle generation" of St Ives. The setting is open and attractive and the sculpture complementary to rather aggressively challenging to its setting. Well worth your attention

The sculpture park at Tremenheere has an excellent new exhibition space, which will be showing a great range of diverse art over the next few years, if this wasn't reason enough to visit, the sculpture garden is full of inspirational art and natural wonders too. When you have had enough art there is a splendid café too!!!!
