This large beach should be good for families and is close to the town centre. It's more sheltered than Porthmeor, a surfing beach, so should be great for calmer water sports. However, the staff at Porthminster surf school, hiring SUPs and kayaks, are unhelpful and...More

Wonderful and recommended to everyone who are looking for a seaside day with kids. There's a wonderful beach with white sand and the waves are calm so good for swimming & paddling.

Lovely beach with beautiful yellow, soft sand. Nice calm waters for swimming if you can face the cold waters. Always enjoy a cider and food from the café at the back of the beach. Beach has toilet facilities. Never had a problem finding a pitch...More

This is a lovely beach....one of the best around St Ives. Nice clean sand and if you are walking from the Carbis Bay direction, a couple of places to get a drink and enjoy the views.

Very clean, soft sand - perfect for walking on or relaxing with a good book! Great ice-cream stall selling 'Kelly's of Cornwall' ice-cream. Watch out for the seagulls trying to steal your ice-cream though!

It's flat so great for paddle boarding. They do hire surf boards but you do surfing on the beach on the other side of St. Ives.

There in April and you couldn't take your dog on the beach then. However Porthgwidden beach nearby allows dogs.
