This museum is absolutely crammed full of folk history, amazing items you just won't find anywhere else, including the C19 photos of the sailors pulled from the sea, the Joanna dolls and the amazing (although he has to be a fake) "Tiny".

This museum has a wonderfull collection of historical items associated with St Ives and the fishing/mining industry. Its a large exhibition over 2 floors and practically covers life over many years from the early 1700's onwards. Although the layout hasnt changed much over the years, and in some cases could do with a "refresh" its well presented and the staff... More

Lacking in information about most of the objects. At least one hour needed to see everything. Very cheap entry.

I hope that they never try to improve this museum, I love the way it is, it is perfect and I have had many happy visits here through out my life. The museum is full of old style museum charm, dusty objects in-cases with hand written labels, the museum is much a museum of its self, as are the objects... More

My great grand daughter & I visit St Ives quite frequently, & we always find time to pop into this lovely old museum which is packed with interesting treasures. There is far too much to digest in one visit, & every time we go, we learn or see something new. It is a real trip down memory lane, because when... More

In the centre of St Ives this museum traces the history of the area. It covers all subjects from railways to farming and fishing, local characters and historical events. The museum houses a diverse collection of artefacts both ancient and modern.

Ok its a local interest museum, but the staff, probably volunteers, tried so hard to engage and be helpful we were very impressed. It's cheap and well worth browisng the exhibits as the collection is very varied.
