Don’t expect a nice sandy beach because it isn’t that and the car park is a rip off at £5 per car. I parked on a little road opposite and walked into the beach for free. Cafe on the beach is lovely (if a little...More

Lovely beach for the area, but it’s best if you have sort of beach footwear, and flip flops won’t cut it. We carried our children from half the length of the beach to see the rock pools, and by the time we were walking back,...More

Picture perfect Devon beach featured in a million adverts. No sand but very fine comfortable shingle with very clear water. Large parking area means it’s always busy in summer , but has a huge expanse of space. Great cafe and shop at back. In summer...More

Firstly the sands are small stones, not much to see but check out history first re world war 2 and American soldiers on training practice, very sad story. Nice coffee shop/cafe. Lots of seating.

Blackpool Sands is a lovely scenic shingle (not sand, despite the name) beach just 15 minutes drive out of Dartmouth. Parking is just off the road, the other side of the beach cafe and hut - the parking attendant on the day we were there...More

We went there with the children (9+13). Plenty of parking - at a price. It's a clean, shingle beach with quite marked shelving at high tide, the waves thump into the shingle. The sea was energetic on the day (windy) and we were worried about...More
