To add a little substance to the comment below. Barbican Botanics Gin are in discussion regarding the old gallery premises but it's very early days with many hurdles including change of use and licensing applications to be made. IF approved the business will relocate from...More

The workmen who have been hard at it for a week or two were initially a bit coy saying only that the old art gallery shop had damp problems that they were curing but eventually they revealed that the new business will be Barbican Botanicals...More

Came to look in today only to find the building empty but no notice to explain. Took a look later at the FB page and discovered that the gallery has just closed after decades here but that a 'new space' is out there somewhere and...More

There seems to have been a gentle change of approach here. They used have have regular and impressive exhibitions of mostly top quality West Country contemporary artists. Then there was a substantial interest in Lenkievicz and the remains of his local work and legacy. Now...More

Well established and always interesting. Not cheap. Local or west country painters. Have bought from here and very satisfied. A few exhibitions a year but usually a reasonable mixed selection to browse. Chatty and well informed staff. Just unpredictable hours.

Open unpredictably. Holds a few mixed or one artist exhibitions a year. Seems moderately informed and professional, selling better stuff than pretty well anywhere else in the city. Always worth a look if open and if you say what you're interested in they will often...More
