This is my favourite pub in Plymouth without a doubt! Every weekend there is a brilliant band playing which ALWAYS has a fantastic atmosphere! The people are friendly, the staff are amazing and it's just a brilliant place for everyone!

It is a good old British pub. No pretentious rubbish here, friendly staff, great live music, good venue. The beers are well kept, not eaten here so unable to comment on this aspect. However the salted peanuts were spotted on.
Sadly the local papers recently confirmed that the Thistle is up for sale. I would hope that it will be as a going concern and that any new owner/managers will continue and maybe extend and improve the gigs.
