Cockington Country Park surrounds the picture postcard Cockington Village...

Cockington Country Park surrounds the picture postcard Cockington Village which lies just off the seafront near Torquay. The Country Park is free to walk around and features beautiful formal gardens, lakes and woodlands which can be enjoyed via a network of paths.

Cockington Court and Cafe are nearby, along with a collection of craft studios where you can browse the creations of local artists and crafts people.

The Cockington Country Park is cared for by local charity the Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust, who's volunteers operate a Visitor Centre in the village. Car parking is chargeable, although Trust members can park for free in the Trust's car park. Visit our website for more details.

Went here for a nice Sunday morning walk and there are loads of lovely paths to take around the area. You'll see lots of dog walkers and children as it's that type of place - very friendly. Just park in the main car park and follow the signs. There are two cafes in the park so you'll have a choice... More

Spent a very enjoyable hour or so at Cockington today. We've been here many times over the years and have never tired of it. Very tranquil and picturesque surroundings with attractive thatched roofs everywhere. We prefer short walks these days but if you want something a bit more challenging, there is plenty of room to explore the Country Park. Close... More

I love this site, it is like going back in time, travelling through the beautiful village before you arrive at the Country Park. Lovely countryside walks ideal for dog walking with lots of thatched cottages. It also has the most unusual cricket pitch I've ever seen.

What has happened in the area around the gamekeepers cottage ? The place looks as if it has had a makeover and a lot of vegetation has gone As in many areas second homes and boutique places to stay seem to be the order of the day More than a few workshops are empty ...seems a shame ... Undeniably beautiful... More

We went and about 80% of the places were closed. It was free to go in and the activities are chargeable but they must be seasonal. We seen one Horse shoe maker and that was it. The car park is not located close either so in the end, we were let down. In the sunny summer days it may be... More

Cockington is a small piece of peace and tranquillity a walking distance from the sea. Quaint cottages, quiet parkland walks and a nice pub for lunch.

This Park really is worth a visit with it's beautiful little lagoons, fantastic colour from the various fauna also the old forge, not to mention The Drum Inn. Best to visit in summer, you won't be disappointed.
