Cockington Country Park surrounds the picture postcard Cockington Village which lies just off the seafront near Torquay. The Country Park is free to walk around and features beautiful formal gardens, lakes and woodlands which can be enjoyed via a network of paths. Cockington Court and Cafe are nearby, along with a collection of craft studios where you can browse the creations of local artists and crafts people. The Cockington Country Park is cared for by local charity the Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust, who's volunteers operate a Visitor Centre in the village. Car parking is chargeable, although Trust members can park for free in the Trust's car park. Visit our website for more details.

Visited during our stay in Torquay... well worth a visit. It was beautiful to visit. Car parking was easy and walking through the village then up to the Manor House was well worth it.

I've been to Cockington a few times now and it really is beautiful. All the houses are kept to their original state so you feel like you've gone back in time. The grounds around the Manor house are stunning, especially in the autumn.

Although craft village are more the "thing" of the good lady, I found myself very pleasantly surprised about just how pretty and interesting this place was. The glass blowing demo was fascinating and the whole complex was tidy, relaxing and a genuine pleasure to experience....More

This hasn't changed much since my first visit in about 1970. Gift shops are interesting, but quite expensive. Real typically Devon tea shop is the highlight.
