This is the central part of Bournemouth and quite often there are stalls or displays here eg Xmas market. During the week a fruit and veg stall is here and is an ideal place for picking up some healthy fast food.

The Square is a pedestrian area between the Lower and Upper Gardens in the centre of the town. There is a cafe / restaurant - The Cafe Obscura, otherwise it is a meeting place for visitors and residents alike. A popular place with street entertainers.

I can't knock it, it's smack bang in the centre of everything. Near to the beach, oceanarium, land train, lower gardens with plenty of seats, central gardens, bus links, shops with eateries. What more do you need. 😁

There's no soul or character here. It's a blank space that's randomly filled with different stalls and naff attractions. The Cafe Obscura is best avoided. Hideously over-priced with very poor service. I think it sets the tone for the Square and is why the place...More

I have lived in Bournemouth my whole life and the last few years I have seen a huge decline. Bournemouth Council have failed and continue to fail. They must be the laughing stock of other councils with the embarrassment of the tragic Castlepoint shopping centre...More

The Square is rather rundown now, the marble / stone floor is covered in cracks with chunks taken out of it, probably due to the skateboarders who are always rolling about in the evenings, it’s incredibly slippery when raining (I’ve almost gone over a couple...More

Seems like the shops Bournemouth Town Centre has become a campsite for the homeless, dont bring your family here whilst Bournemouth council go after easy targets like parking fines whilst ignoring rampant drug dealing and homelessness.

What a lovely area. We always get that Mediterranean feeling, but obviously not the weather....Britain!! Nevertheless, a lovely area, some smashing bars and restaurants, and Bournemouth in general is simply lovely.

Yes, about 15-20 min by walk, but the city center is nice, so it is a good and enjoyable walk :)
