Small but interesting museum in Tolpuddle. Well worth a stop. No charge. Small shop with limited refreshments. Plenty of parking. Great pub down the road for lunch.

Lovely pub staff very friendly. Seating inside and out. Food was fantastic, I had a Piri Piri chicken burger it was the best I'd tasted. Really worth a visit. Will come back again.

I went today, visited the museum and then up to the sycamore tree where someone was giving a talk on the conditions leading up to their actions, and their horrifying consequences. The museum is small and simple, as befits the martyrs themselves, but there is...More

It was interesting to visit and understand a bit about the Tolpuddle Martyrs. However the museum is very small, just a single room, with banners hung around the outside each giving a snippet of history related to the martyrs. So not very easy to really...More

was a bit disappointed with this museum. It was one room in a house. The information was good but it lacked some piazz and atmosphere. It would have been good if they'd played some actors saying each of the martyrs stories rather than just a...More

Free to enter, although donations gratefully received. Fascinating details about the brave men involved in a demonstration against unfair practises, and the consequences for them and eventually society. .

A quirky and quintessentially Dorset attraction, telling a moving story of ordinary men losing everything at the hands of corrupt aristocracy. The tiny, and free museum is housed in one of the Martyr's Cottages and is in Tolpuddle (duh!) not Dorchester as the TA heading...More

Not a huge amount there, but definitely worth a visit, shows how shameful some of our history was. Should be a must visit for older kids who would understand and learn from this piece of history.

Visited the museum on a bright Feb day. It's a small room with boards telling the story of the Tolpuddle Martyrs. Great to learn their story, but I felt more objects could have been displayed. There was also some confusion on opening times as the...More

I would imagine so. It's only a small place, just one room, and feels quite informal. You could tie him up,outside though, it doesn't take long to visit.
