This museum is fine to while away free time especially as it does not charge entry fee, but not meant to be included in a planned itinerary. It does not have great historical artefacts and instead consists mainly of exhibits of toys, arts and crafts.

Really enjoyed the Rowland Emett displays. Clean and well presented museum. Nice toys display. We went to Brighton, The Booth and Hove museums and they were all really different

Visited this museum with my wife & 5 year old granddaughter on 7th May which was the day of the election. The museum was also a polling station! I retired to the tea room which I can wholeheartedly recommend as an oasis of calm with excellent coffee and a good range of delicious fresh cakes.

Hove Museum is located on the outskirts of the town, to the west of the shopping centre. It is not a place that would attract much passing trade. It occupies the first floor of a fine looking house in a small park. There is a toy gallery, some craft galleries, a few panels showing the development of Hove as a residential... More

We had a friend visiting with 3 young children and it was a rainy day. After a trip to a swimming pool I SUDDENLY REMEMBERED THIS MUSEUM. There was something to amuse an 11 yr old,9 yr old and 4 yr old,as well as the adults.

In the heart of Brighton lives this quirky and cool museum. It has everything from 20th century design furniture to Egyptian mummies. And it's FREE!! But best of all is the tea room where you can have finest teas served in a silver tea pot with scones and cream. The ultimate in decadence. If you miss out on this on... More

Great for families with a whole room dedicated to toys with some opportunity to interact. Great display of contemporary crafts. Lots of local history . Friendly staff. Nice cafe and friends tell me the cream teas are wonderful though I have not tried myself ...... Yet. Free to get in and probably only need an hour to get round, ideal... More

Firstly, it is lovely that Hove still has it's own museum, as a lot of (most of!) the interesting historical sites in the area are not in Brighton. A friend who grew up in the area insisted I went to see what it had to offer, and I am pleased I did. The place is small, thoughtfully put together, fully... More
