Lewes has a nice variety of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Great place for browse or rummage through an antique shop.

This is a great street to while away an afternoon as you browse the independent shops. If you like antiques then you'll be well pleased – there must be five or six along this small stretch of the town, and none of them are small!...More

The High street is a must for any Lewes visit. Nice to get away from box and large department stores. Independents are great for that something special. Nice to wander around in a nice non-hectic bustling crowd during the day. But don't forget stores close...More

it is true. Sadly a lot of the independent shops cannot afford to open Sundays

There are various places to park including some on street parking check google or your sat nav for the cheapest places to park. North Street car park for all day parking.
