I decided to pop into this church to see it. I definitely agree with other reviewers; that it's a nice place to stop into. Should you specifically visited lewes for this church: no. Will you spend more than an hour here: probably not. However, it...More

This is a lovely church dating back 800 years and has a number of interesting features which are clearly outlined on the board in the entrance porch. The Pre-Raphaelite glass windows are very noteworthy. The graveyard is very overgrown.

A very beautiful church in the heart of Lewes, recently fitted large glass wall foyer keeps the wind out but lets light in, many stain glass windows with plaques and interesting interior fittings. The attached graveyard in not always open, burials ceased many generations ago....More

Really enjoy walking around churches looking at the architecture. This church is special as it has a round tower. Lovely view of the castle from the church yard. Beware of the bees, which are lovely to watch. One thing i would love churches to supply...More

A tiny but beautiful and historic church. With access to the churchyeard where you have a view of the castle, it is believed this is where those residing at the castle worshiped. Peaceful and decorative inner space.

We found this historic church to be full of interesting sights. It is a "high" church which adds to its charm.

This church has a round bell tower. Not sure if 'bell tower' is even the right word to describe it. It has been rebuilt and added onto several times in the last 5 hundred years. Very few churches in England have round towers, and even...More

A stunning church, but also an oasis of calm off the busy High Street. From the outside, admire the workmanship of the square knapped flint, the wooden shingles on the naturally spiraling spire, the modern sculpture of St Michael wielding a sword and the imposing...More

i walked from Charleston via the old Coach Road to this church - 8 mile return journey and so worth every step. I was able to spend time alone looking at the murals painted by Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant and soak up the peace...More
