Lamb House in Rye is Mallards House, although Garden Room was bombed in the war. Many features of Tilling are recognisable in Rye.

A wonderful setting for this drama with the quirky buildings, the cobbled street and the merchants houses. I can see Mapp and Lucia standing on the doorstep of Lamb House bickering with one another in their inimitable way!

Quite a lovely old town but did not live up to all the hype as 'England's best preserved town'. Enjoyed wandering the streets and, yes, there are some lovely buildings and the cobblestones add character but, please, get a grip on reality.

Take your walking shoes as there are lots of cobbled areas. Plenty to see in this beautiful quaint town. Friendly locals as well. I adored Rye and would certainly recommend a couple of days stay. Lots of lovely antique shops .

My wife and I visited Rye purely on the basis of the TV show broadcast Christmas 2015, and we weren't disappointed. It is a great place to visit with magnificent architecture and excellent places to visit nearby. Rye warrants at least a couple of days...More

A lovely quaint town with some cobbled narrow streets and some old and interesting buildings. There are plenty of good reasons why you should visit or stay here, even if you have no interest in the Mapp & Lucia connection. The Heritage Centre staff were...More
