As it was cold and windy it was not fully appreciated but can imagine it would be lovely in good weather. Quaint shops. It is a shame the domed montpellier building is now a Lloyd's bank. Popped in there and couldn't believe the acoustics.

We try and park in the Bath Road car park and walk into Cheltenham via the Montpellier District as it is a delightful place - we seem to see different things every time. Lots of history and loads of independent shops and eateries.

By day Montpellier in Cheltenham is great for quality shopping with frequent cafe breaks, and is very close to the centre of town. At night having a drink or two in the upmarket pubs and wine bars is great way to start the evening off before a fab meal in one of the many excellent restaurants.

If you can get a Parking place, £2 for two hours, Montpelier is a very pleasant stroll. Many varied Coffee shops both inside and outside seating spoil you for choice. Shops vary from upmarket fashion to special offer dress venues. Antique shops and Kitchenware shops also worth a browse. Close enough to walk into Cheltenham centre and chain stores.

With beautiful parks and bars and restaurants and high quality shops, Montpellier is only a short walk to Cheltenham town centre. Jazz, literature and food and drink festivals also taking place this is an ideal place to picnic, have great meals and socialise.

This is the best place in Cheltenham to take in the architecture, look at the shops, grab a coffee and stroll through the most beautiful park
