The Corinium Museum is located at the heart of Cirencester the 'Capital of the Cotswolds'. Its principal collection consists of the highly significant finds from the Roman town of Corinium. However the museum today is much more than that, taking the visitor on a journey through time and charting the development of the Cotswolds from its prehistoric landscape to the modern day. The light and modern galleries offer the visitor an exceptional interactive experience. The museum is renowned for its learning provision, with an education centre and temporary exhibition space that ensure a vibrant, changing programme of events and activities for everyone to enjoy.

Great museum explaining the (surprisingly long) history of Cirencester. Visited on a rainy day and lots to engage both adults and kids in between a stint of Christmas shopping in Cirencester!

This is a well laid out museum that guides you through the history of Cirencester. There are tableaux and reconstructions of archeological discoveries as well as several interactive displays for children and adults. It is informative and presented in an interesting way.

What a great way to spend a couple of hours. We didn't have enough time to read all the information, the copper cockerel from 2 BC (?) was in perfect repair and not to be missed. All in all it was a great afternoon.

Hello, we are delighted you enjoyed exploring the Corinium Museum galleries. The enamelled cockerel figurine you mentioned was discovered in an infant burial during excavations in Cirencester in 2011 and has recently gone on display. Thank you for sharing this lovely review.

Plenty of time needed to take in all this wonderful museum. I found the mosaics facinating and artifacts well documented.
