We didn't know anything about this place, just chanced upon it.. interesting! Lots to do and see, places to eat and great views if it's not raining or foggy.

Check carefully for opening days or you may be disappointed. It's a shame the fort isn't open more. There is a great deal of history and educational stuff going on inside the fort but there is also a great walk around the moat in all...More

What a great place and we couldn't believe it's free. It was very busy which was nice to see. Just a shame it's not open more often. Well worth a visit and we will definitely return. Nice to see signets in the moat outside also.

Lovely exhibits, very friendly and knowledgeable staff, definitely worth a visit and as it's so vast it doesn't feel crowded.
