This once fine memorial now stands next to a busy dual carriageway and seems rather forlorn. Surely some rich American with links to the Mayflower could donate some dollars to renovate it? Perhaps a couple of new interpretation boards and a general clean up of the monument, especially the decorated cupola at the top.

I wouldn't have made a special visit to see this memorial but I respect it in many ways. It had a warm feeling towards it and the people from the past.

It is a lovely area to sit on a nice day... More

Yes, there is a Mayflower Park and across the street, a memorial, but that is kind of pushed to the side and can go unnoticed. Worth a trip. Some nice trees and benches there to take a break in the shade. The park though could have used some cleaning. A small food/refreshment truck is there, but I didn't see any... More

So, this is the real picture of the Mayflower Memorial. It is located far south in front of the canal, close to the doc and the Mayflower Park.
