Unpretentious and lively. Quirky but well run. The high class music acts in the cellar are well worth checking out, but there are a plethora of other clubs and groups. Or just enjoy fine ales and a traditional, convivial and female-friendly ambience. Nice garden too.

We visited this great little pub while staying in the city. Very friendly and how a pub should be with dogs welcome, board games and a good selection of ales. We wish it was our local!

Called in after meal in Winchester for a drink. Lovely quaint old English pub. Very warm and welcoming. It was dog friendly. We enjoyed our drink in there and would definitely call again if we are in Winchester.
