What a find! Tranquillity on a gently babbling river, with amazing views, places to paddle, deckchairs, and Roman remains. This is my new favourite National Trust garden (and as a member for 20 years I've seen a lot!). Heaven.

Visited on a sunny warm June day, lovely shady spots to cool down, and then take advantage of the deck chairs in the Sun. Only a small site but lovely just to take your time a wander. We didn't take a picnic, but it's a...More

This year was rather disappointing spoilt by The Beast from the East which da managed the snowdrops. Usually there is a carpet of white followed by the Spring Bulbs. Lovely walk along the river Wye. The walled garden is also lovely

Yes it's a lovely location, with great views of the river and a tranquil place to relax, but plant-wise it was almost totally boring - perhaps we hit the wrong week? Walled garden was more interesting.

We only had an hour at the gardens which wasn’t really enough time to have a good look round. But what we saw was amazing. The views of the river are just spectacular. Quite a lot of steps to navigate as the gardens are on...More

This is a slightly different NT garden to the norm. The house is a care home ( so not open to the public and not NT) and you have to make your own tea and coffee. However, the walks are great and be sure not...More
