We were spending the day in Canterbury and took Bracken our dog for a walk first. This was a lovely walk along the river and through the gardens, very peaceful with lovely old buildings, ducks and planted areas.

During our short stay in Canterbury we found the gardens and a footpath leading to other worthwhile places to visit, I.e. the Norman Castle ruins. Brilliant shrubbery and trees. Bit late in the year, but I bet the floral colours truly make these wonderful gardens...More

This small park is easily accessible from the city and offers a lovely area for all the family. My husband took his morning run there - only a few minutes from our hotel. We also walked there after shopping in late afternoon by the river.

Westgate Gardens is a lovely tranquil area just off the city centre with the Stour running through it. It's long and narrow with some nice formal planting, restful areas and interesting paths, arbours, split levels and some unusual trees. It broadens out to a riverside...More

I love the Westgate gardens. Great place to take the kids, always well kept and has the best play park if you walk through the pretty garden bit

Lovely gardens with lots of interest alongside the river. We walked from one end to the other and spotted the Italy Star memorial and the Burma Star memorial and walked on what was once part of Watling Street.

This lovely area of Canterbury is much underrated. Such lovely colours and smells of this well kept area of gardens at the bottom of the high street by the Westgate towers. Lovely to sit and watch the ducks and their antics in really pretty surroundings...More

There are about three Park and Ride parks around Canterbury and I would suggest using one of these. Canterbury is easy to walk around but not easy to park actually in the city. Using the Park and Ride solves that problem and... More
