Travel with "Chaucer" and his band of pilgrims from the Tabard Inn in London to Canterbury Cathedral. Our costumed characters will introduce you to what is arguably the most famous collection of tales written in Medieval Britain. The handheld audio guide will then lead you through our stunning recreation of medieval England and lead you into five of Chaucer's most loved tales. These are tales of unrequited love, attempts at cheating death, bawdy infidelity and the chance to discover what every woman wants. . .Still as engaging for today's audiences as they were 600 years ago. Laugh with us and learn with us! The Canterbury Tales visitor attraction is the only attraction in the UK dedicated to this famous piece of English literature and is an essential addition to any Canterbury itinerary. Foreign language audio guides are available, as is a children's version (toning down the rather bawdy nature of the tales). This is also recommended for guests learning English. Under 5s are admitted free of charge but please be advised that children of a nervous disposition may find the low lighting and realistic models a little intimidating.

You are guided through rooms in which there are scenes from the Canterbury Tales. Some of the life size models work and there are sound effects too (particularly fruity farts!). It is all very interesting and entertaining and, although I knew nothing about the Canterbury...More

I wasn't really sure what to expect when I entered this attraction and hadn't realised it was an escorted tour. As there were only a couple of other people taking part at the same time as me it felt a bit awkward to begin with,...More

Following a rather underwhelming visit to Canterbury Cathedral (see my other review!) we decided that we'd chance our luck with the Canterbury Tales attraction. We got there at 2:30pm but were told it was only reopening to the public at 4pm. We faced the decision...More

In the area for a few hours and the wife has always wanted to go and now I'm happy I went. It's not expensive and a good waste of 40 minutes. I'm going to read the book now it was that good.

We really enjoyed this attraction. You are given a guide for part of the way and hand held phone for the rest of the way. It was set in medieval times with sounds and smells of that time. Along the way you meet charecters with...More

A nice introduction to the Canterbury tales through a series of dioramas with audio to illustrate the different parts of Chaucer's famous book. A fun way to spend 40 minutes or so.

I brought about 40 teens and adult chaperones to visit from on a day trip from Cambridge, and we were not impressed. Most of our group felt this attraction was a tourist trap, and that it was not worth the time or money spent.

Very amusing, you must attend. Interesting, the tales all had a naughty twist with a lot of humour. Well worth a visit if you are in Canterbury

We absolutely are! Please do be aware, though, that some power chairs will be too big for our little lift. We will measure the chair before you go on your tour, and if it is too big we do have an alternative wheelchair that... More
