Overview
More
Travel with "Chaucer" and his band of pilgrims from the Tabard Inn in London to Canterbury Cathedral. Our costumed characters will introduce you to what is arguably the most famous collection of tales written in Medieval Britain. The handheld audio guide will then lead you through our stunning recreation of medieval England and lead you into five of Chaucer's most loved tales. These are tales of unrequited love, attempts at cheating death, bawdy infidelity and the chance to discover what every woman wants. . .Still as engaging for today's audiences as they were 600 years ago. Laugh with us and learn with us! The Canterbury Tales visitor attraction is the only attraction in the UK dedicated to this famous piece of English literature and is an essential addition to any Canterbury itinerary. Foreign language audio guides are available, as is a children's version (toning down the rather bawdy nature of the tales). This is also recommended for guests learning English. Under 5s are admitted free of charge but please be advised that children of a nervous disposition may find the low lighting and realistic models a little intimidating.

Friendly and enthusiastic staff were a highlight. Unfortunately the 40 minute "tour" is a rather weak walkthrough of 5 digital guide retellings of Chaucer's tales led by a poorly scripted guide and augmented by rooms dressed to set the scene. Would be a passable 40...More

Walked in off the street out of curiosity and was immediately impressed with the atmosphere and especially the friendly and informative staff member who greeted us and explained the experience. Found the tour very enjoyable, informative and entertaining, and again the guide was excellent. Finally...More

Reasonable value for money. Original way to present 5 of Chaucer’s tales in modern English. A mix of audio-visual presentations and an intro & wrap-up by a live actor. Very entertaining and informative. Well worth visiting

We visited the Canterbury Tales attraction last week, it was quite interesting but compared to other attractions you see at Disneyland in USA, this attraction is out dated and a bit boring. It needs some investment to bring it up to modern day expectations people...More

Wasn’t sure what to expect and was very surprised. It was fun and informative although not overly long. If you have young children have the kids headset as it’s a little suggestive in places .

Visited this so called visitor attraction-it's not for adults-it's obviously for children-dreadful-tatty-awful design-disaster for British literary history and chaucer . Pleasant staff.

I visited by myself on a Sunday afternoon and thought it was the perfect refresher or introduction to the Canterbury Tales. It starts with a guide explaining how and why Chaucer wrote the tales then with an audio guide (in your language) you pass through...More

The staff were dressed to represent historic times. They were friendly and informative. The only criticism is that the final speaker should wait until all of the party are present before beginning their talk. The audio machines worked very well and were synchronised with the...More
