Travel with "Chaucer" and his band of pilgrims from the Tabard...

Travel with "Chaucer" and his band of pilgrims from the Tabard Inn in London to Canterbury Cathedral. Our costumed characters will introduce you to what is arguably the most famous collection of tales written in Medieval Britain. The handheld audio guide will then lead you through our stunning recreation of medieval England and lead you into five of Chaucer's most loved tales. These are tales of unrequited love, attempts at cheating death, bawdy infidelity and the chance to discover what every woman wants. . .Still as engaging for today's audiences as they were 600 years ago.

Laugh with us and learn with us! The Canterbury Tales visitor attraction is the only attraction in the UK dedicated to this famous piece of English literature and is an essential addition to any Canterbury itinerary.

Foreign language audio guides are available, as is a children's version (toning down the rather bawdy nature of the tales). This is also recommended for guests learning English. Under 5s are admitted free of charge but please be advised that children of a nervous disposition may find the low lighting and realistic models a little intimidating.

We were visiting Canterbury on Thursday so we thought we thought we would give Canterbury Tales a go. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The attraction is good.

I recall my first impression more than 15 years ago. I enjoyed it a lot. The attraction seems to be frozen in time. I may have grown older and wiser, but this time I thought to myself: what a waste of time this is.

This was such a laugh, you are guided with a story teller at the beginning to give you a sense of the period and what Kent was like to live in. Then its like walking around an animated little village full of tales and stories to listen to. It covers the pardoners tale and many other of the famous 'Canterbury... More

This is really good for someone without any real knowledge of The Canterbury Tales. Our guide, Ralph, was really fun and took us on the informative adventure that is The Canterbury Tales. A must :)

Great for all ages - amusing, light hearted pilgrimage with personal and audio guide. Taken around in small groups and this attraction can also cater for wheelchair users.

Interesting atmospheric visitor attraction that takes you back to Chaucers Canterbury. Not Disney, more low key, but the smells transport you around the historic resurrected Church.

My wife and I did this tour just before Christmas 2016 during our first trip to Canterbury. It's worthwhile and a nice distraction for an hour or so. It was £9.95 for adults and it's certainly more suitable for older kids and adults than young children. It starts with an actor introducing the tour and then it is just an... More

If you're interested in the history of Canterbury, and specifically the Canterbury Tales this is worth a visit. I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked it, as I found the website a bit vague on the actual activity. It takes about 45 minutes to complete and is basically a walking tour of scenes from the Canterbury Tales. There... More

We went on the tour with our 3 kids 3 and under and we all had a great time. The live actors were entertaining. The scenes in the various rooms were cheesy but the kids loved it. They got to dress up as knights (which they loved) and the actors made a point of praising them for protecting the group.

Thank you for your wonderful review, I am delighted to read that you had such a lovely visit to us and that your 3 little knights successfully escorted the group through the attraction! It is so lovely to hear that you enjoyed the scenes and that the staff member really engaged with you and your family. We are very proud... More
