Travel with "Chaucer" and his band of pilgrims from the Tabard Inn in London to Canterbury Cathedral. Our costumed characters will introduce you to what is arguably the most famous collection of tales written in Medieval Britain. The handheld audio guide will then lead you through our stunning recreation of medieval England and lead you into five of Chaucer's most loved tales. These are tales of unrequited love, attempts at cheating death, bawdy infidelity and the chance to discover what every woman wants. . .Still as engaging for today's audiences as they were 600 years ago. Laugh with us and learn with us! The Canterbury Tales visitor attraction is the only attraction in the UK dedicated to this famous piece of English literature and is an essential addition to any Canterbury itinerary. Foreign language audio guides are available, as is a children's version (toning down the rather bawdy nature of the tales). This is also recommended for guests learning English. Under 5s are admitted free of charge but please be advised that children of a nervous disposition may find the low lighting and realistic models a little intimidating.

We were 2 adults, and 1 eight year old child. What can we say? This tour was brilliant, well put together, and engagingly fun! From the moment we entered, our little one was given a medieval dress to wear, and then we set off on...More

We were expecting more of this experience, however it is not worth the £10. It is not well done, the venue is tight and stuffy, acted in a haste and seemed like a quick way for the organisers to make money. Slightly disappointed.

The stop over is worth the time. The historical scenes and legends are acted out by people dressed in costumes depicting the middle ages. The welcome is warm and inviting. Head phones available with a choice of languages in order to follow the stories.

We joined four other couples to be escorted round the very plausible exhibitions, scenery and smells, accompanied by Hugo the very knowledgeable and humorous guide, and our audio handsets. Limited seating available in some of the rooms. Lots of stairs for the less mobile. Gift...More

Big hats off to our host who tried to make the experience seem better than it was. Oscar goes to..... Tour around the tales consists of budget props and recorded stories. Might had well have read them in the book. Waste of time and money

Friendly and knowledgeable Staff, the guide was enthusiastic and we enjoyed the walk from London to Canterbury, the old church is a bit drafty and warm clothes on a cold day is recommended. all in all value for money and well worth a visit

Friendly and enthusiastic staff were a highlight. Unfortunately the 40 minute "tour" is a rather weak walkthrough of 5 digital guide retellings of Chaucer's tales led by a poorly scripted guide and augmented by rooms dressed to set the scene. Would be a passable 40...More

Walked in off the street out of curiosity and was immediately impressed with the atmosphere and especially the friendly and informative staff member who greeted us and explained the experience. Found the tour very enjoyable, informative and entertaining, and again the guide was excellent. Finally...More

Reasonable value for money. Original way to present 5 of Chaucer’s tales in modern English. A mix of audio-visual presentations and an intro & wrap-up by a live actor. Very entertaining and informative. Well worth visiting

We visited the Canterbury Tales attraction last week, it was quite interesting but compared to other attractions you see at Disneyland in USA, this attraction is out dated and a bit boring. It needs some investment to bring it up to modern day expectations people...More
