Travel with "Chaucer" and his band of pilgrims from the Tabard Inn in London to Canterbury Cathedral. Our costumed characters will introduce you to what is arguably the most famous collection of tales written in Medieval Britain. The handheld audio guide will then lead you through our stunning recreation of medieval England and lead you into five of Chaucer's most loved tales. These are tales of unrequited love, attempts at cheating death, bawdy infidelity and the chance to discover what every woman wants. . .Still as engaging for today's audiences as they were 600 years ago. Laugh with us and learn with us! The Canterbury Tales visitor attraction is the only attraction in the UK dedicated to this famous piece of English literature and is an essential addition to any Canterbury itinerary. Foreign language audio guides are available, as is a children's version (toning down the rather bawdy nature of the tales). This is also recommended for guests learning English. Under 5s are admitted free of charge but please be advised that children of a nervous disposition may find the low lighting and realistic models a little intimidating.

Great value for money! My 9yr old daughter enjoyed learning the history and a great couple of hours if it's a rainy day!

Fun little activity. We had not read the book before but felt like we got a really good idea of what it was about - really fun stories, learnt loads about the history of the city too!

This is a well organised tour with a guide in medieval costume. The detail is well presented and you get a real feel of the Middle Ages. It helps if you have some knowledge of Chaucer but is not necessary. The tales are presented in...More

OK on the Groupon price but I would not have been happy at full price. Very dark in places but became accustomed to it. Poor actor at start really tried to get us participating but nobody wanted to!

I had not read the reviews before I came and am dismayed to see the negative ones. This is a well organized little tour. We were gathered together and told a little history; then led on the pilgrimage. Okay so this is not Madame Tussauds...More

I arrived in time to join a group. Was also given a handheld guide which "spoke" at the same time as the actor was doing her spiel which was a bit confusing. Although we were introduced to all the characters in the first scene only...More

You'd only enjoy this as a child. Not a great thing to do as an adult, total waste of money really. Instead spend your money visiting either St Augustine's Abbey (excellent if you like ruins), Canterbury Cathedral or Roman Museum to get an insight of...More

Arrived here quite late in the day and was probably doing the last tour of the day, on a Saturday when people want to go home, so my experience may not be reflective of the general standard. It seems that the tour can only be...More

Visited during a torrential downpour - it was a good way to spend an hour of our time. It’s well executed in a fun and family-centred way but a little bit on the expensive side. £8 would be more reasonable.
