Dover Castle sits a top a hill majestically looking out over the town of Dover. Steeped in centuries of history the Castle, grounds and Underground Tunnels will be of interest to anyone from 5 to 95 years old, coming as a family, a couple, friends or on your own. The Castle Keep offers visitors the chance to see what it... More

It is quite a hike up to the castle from the town but worth the effort. You can follow the road or there are steps part way. The castle itself is quite magnificent in contrast to the fairly drab township of Dover and definitely worth a visit. You can get some great views of the castle from the heights above... More

Dover Castle commands views over the town and the channel. Many different regattas, which are always packed. Take a tour with one of the guides. Very informative.

This place is so full of history, from Roman lighthouse to secret war time tunnels and much, much more. Unlike a castle in ruins this place is alive, plenty of interactive activities and a wonderful atmosphere. Places to eat, picnic areas, and a land train.....great for adults and kids alike.

The castle and grounds are truly impressive. Inside the castle itself, there were a few guides to help explain things, and an informative video about Henry II, the king who commissioned much of the castle over 800 years ago. The admission cost is higher than other castles where you can see, hear, and learn a lot more, but still within... More

Dover Castle looks impressive from the town but I wasn't prepared for the sheer scale of it once inside. The hospital tunnel tour was really good but be warned, there are more than 70 steps to get back topside so unless you are very fit ask for the lift - there is one on offer. The signalling post was also... More

We have been several times at different times of the year and it's always a good day out. The castle itself is furnished with staff available and keen to answer all your questions. The wartime tunnels and hospital tunnels are fascinating but you need to time then right to see everything in one day, especially when its busy. On our... More

Unfortunately, we arrived late in the afternoon by which time access to the wartime tunnels had been closed off for the day. Luckily we are English Heritage members, else the admission price just to see the Castle would have been prohibitive. We did enjoy wandering around the Castle, but were disappointed overall. Surely visiting hours could be extended during daylight... More
