I have knocked a star off, as Ramsgate is not enjoying the same quality and maintenance that is sibling Margate does in the sands department. There is some work that needs to be done, towards the harbour side of the beach to reduce the shingle...More

This is the biggest and safest beach in the area. Plenty of space for kids to play on great sand whilst parents sunbathe, even when the tide is in. Very gentle slope to the sea.

A visit to Ramsgate Main Sands is always a joy. I almost grew up on this beach and am so pleased to see the number of visitors increasing each year. Clean, safe and enjoyable. Amenities are good, although the toilets are beginning to look tired....More

I loved the feeling of traqulity here and the back drop of the white cliffs with the sandy beach all makes for lovely scenery, I much prefer it here to margate beach, the magic still exists at this location

Lovely golden sands stretching from the harbour wall to the bathing station. Excellent summer or winter.park on the promenade. Good restaurants and pubs within walking distance.

Lovely sandy beach. It wasn't too crowded. Food, drink etc on the beach and restaurants etc near by too. Lifeguards patrolling.

Very small beach area to the right of the harbour but the small café there is really good value with soft ice creams at £1.80 and tea from 80p and seems well run even in high season
