A lovely spot for walks or picnics overlooking Sandwich Bay. The Viking Ship is the official symbol for Thanet and with it in foreground and the bay in the back ground it presents so ideal photographic scenes. There is parking and a lovely little cafe for snacks, coffee, tea or ice cream. Or take along a picnic perfect place summer... More

The Viking Ship at Cliffs end is a good place to picnic and is quiet now with traffic calming. The bird life is a great feature. There is a cafe and toilet. So it is a good place to take a family with free parking .

Interesting bit of history. Could really do with a bit more information, or better access, but worth a quick stop. Directly above the long abandoned hoverport as well.

It's free! It's a real ship! It's a viking ship! There are some information boards and the view over the sea is very atmospheric, too. It's well worth a stop if you live in the area / are on your way to / from east Kent, plus recommend an icecream / light lunch from the nearby cafe if you didn't... More

We visited late at night whilst returning from dinner in Ramsgate. The ship is lit well and some good photos are possible. Even after 10 pm, there were many walkers and a few runners on the pathway that runs by the side of the ship. With their modern headlights, to someone not used to the area, these made for a... More

Beautiful setting for the Hugin Viking Ship overlooking Sandwich Bay. Great place for picnics, has large grassed area for children to safely play and has a car park. Ice cream available also!

layby next to it, parkland and a café, well worth a visit, where else would you see one? It's very large, and sailed from denmark in 1949 apparently, entirely free, just there next to the road, open to the elements, a great find!
