I think we were lucky to experience a day of diesel trains on the 20th anniversary of this rescued line. It was a very good day out on what eventually became rather drizzly after a dry start, and something different age groups thoroughly enjoyed. It was a lucky thing that we'd had a big breakfast as there was no real... More

We went to SVR for the spring diesel gala, our first visit to this heritage railway. The staff (all volunteers) were helpful and attentive, and the diesels were rotated efficiently to allow us to travel behind all of them easily in a day. The scenery is lovely trackside and the stations well maintained.

We booked to go on the railway and expereince we the murder mystery : fish and chip supper. It was a bit of a luke warm start with us being herded into a waiting room with no clear expectation of what to expect. However the train journey was fab and the carriages comfortable and authentic. The fish and chips served... More

For a railway that celebrates it's 20th anniversary this year (2017) I have to congratulate all at the Spa Valley Railway for what it has achieved in (i guess) a short space of time, in comparison to other heritage railways. All the stations have been lovingly restored - wouldn't it be great if Tunbridge Wells West station could be reconnected... More

The Spa Valley Railway is a short ride from Eridge into Tunbridge Wells West. Eridge station is well restored and is par t for the main line Southern Railways station but decorated to a much better standard. The journey takes 30 minutes to Tunbridge wells West with two intermediate stations. On the day we visited they were not running steam... More

Fledgling railway very pleasant, accommodating and knowledgeable staff who even went to the trouble of phoning the pub to see when they stopped serving lunch. sadly it was a purple day so no steam train we will revisit and a steam day! best to check before

Really nice stations on the route. Authentically dressed staff and trains were great - just like going back in time. We purchased a family ticket via GroupOn which meant it was only £15 (instead of about £27 I believe) for a return trip. Note: We were told that if you purchase via groupon you had to go on the first... More

The spa valley railway is an ok railway mostly because I was traveling in Kate their bar car and the seats in Kate were very dirty with left over food in the seats and on the floor. The locomotive in service was CNB no 19. She was a beautiful locomotive but at Erige I was quite disappointed when a diesel... More

Dear Train Fan 2, Thank you for coming to see us and taking the time to post a review. Although we work very hard to ensure the train is properly presented for each journey, we are occasionally overwhelmed with the level of devastation wreaked by some of our younger guests' eating habits, and sometimes it takes slightly longer than the... Arrived at ticket office to be served by a lovely gentleman dressed in his uniform, all the train volunteers had there uniforms on so helped the trip more special,we had the steam train take us the full route which was great with the smells and noises even hearing the carriage doors slam shut ( music to my ears) we got off... Visited Sat 11th Feb for the Paw Patrol experience. The entertainment before the train journey was okay, some face painting and colouring. Got on the train which was quaint and a step into the past....all going well so far. Then halfway through the train journey when we're in the middle of our lunch our entire carriage was told we had... More

Dear Dazzle3009, Thank you for coming to visit us, and for your feedback. I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your day, and I hope I can offer some clarification on the events that day. There was sadly a planning oversight on our part, in that for reasons beyond our control we had to slot the PAW Patrol event into this... More
