The Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery shares the special story of the Borough of Tunbridge Wells. Set in the countryside of the Weald of Kent, the town of Royal Tunbridge Wells grew from the discovery of the spa waters in 1606. The Georgian 'den of iniquity' eventually became the byword for Victorian respectibility.Come and enjoy our outstanding collections of costume, art, dolls and toys. We also have excellent natural and local history, from dinosaur bones to the original 'Pantiles'. You can also see the world's largest collection of Tunbridge Ware - the intricate wooden souvenirs made for visitors to the Wells.

Large amount of really interesting exhibits in a very small space, just two rooms really. A lot of really beautiful examples of Tunbridge ware, I'm afraid I just examined the lovely objects and skipped the explanations of the history and techniques of Tunbridge ware. Then...More

There is not much to say about this museum and art gallery, except that it is dated, uninspiring and pretty boring! It seems to be such a waste of money to keep a place like that opened! I am not a great fan. I am...More

Fantastic museum, kept my daughter entertained for hours on a rainy day! Colouring and treasure trails and hats to try on etc interactive stuff for a small place which is free entry.

Visited just after I moved and thought it would be a good way to get acquainted with my new home. Found everything there interesting but my visit didn't last long due to the small stature of the place.

This museum is well maintained but feels very dated and not in anyway engaging. The museum could do with an overhaul to be more interactive for the visitors. If you want to know the history of the town or enjoy art its worth a visit...More
