Beautiful and enchanting. A tiny downstairs and upstairs. The National Trust guide was enthusiastic and informative. We love this little building.

Rightly described as quirky by many other reviewers, this tiny (National Trust) cottage sits over a stream on the road out of Ambleside towards Grasmere. Worth a quick visit although the very restricted opening hours mean you’ll be lucky to see inside.

Quirky, interesting building. Unfortunately not open on the inside when we were there at 12 noon, despite a handwritten note saying that it'd be open at 11:30am. Would have liked the opportunity to learn more aboyt the history of the building, but still cute enough...More

Quirky tiny house spanning the tributary that feeds into Lake Windermere. Worth a look if you are in the area.

Located just above a stream that runs a millrace for the immediately adjacent Fulling Mill (now a restaurant) this is great. It is run by the National Trust and is not always open.

A little house on a bridge over a river! A very popular photographic cottage in Ambleside, in the care of the National Trust. Unfortunately it wasn't open on our visit to the town. It would have been nice to see inside, but it wouldn't take...More

Passed here a few times, this is the first time I've been in. Great little place, lady from The National Trust had amazing knowledge of the whole of the lake district.

Quirky little house bridge. My mum has the lilliput lane ornament so was beautiful seeing the real building.

We passed by this little house several timed when visiting Ambleside. I have seen many sighs when traveling, but this was something special!

The original bridge over the river then had a house added in the 17th century. A stunning piece of historic Ambleside is a must see when visiting. It is in the main road through so fairly easy to find - on a 'open' day a...More
