This is certainly one of the most attractively adorned gravestones I've seen. Regardless of how much you know or want to know about Ruskin, it's worth wandering through this lovely churchyard. There are several impressive gravestones but this is certainly the star amongst them.
John Ruskin (1819 - 1900) is buried in the graveyard of St. Andrews Church, Coniston.

I have to admit I didn't know so much about Ruskin and his work before we visited the Lakes. It came as a pleasant surprise to me to find out what a great man he was and his contribution to modern history and literature.
